    is it really good practice to get node(and its who-knows-what dependencies via npm) and python(and its who-knows-what dependencies) in an embedded board? ok for demo, bad for maintenance and upgrade?

      Hi, Thanks for reaching out. The demo was designed to present very simple Docker concepts with the main focus on Docker itself. As such, we are only prototyping a design with concepts beginners should be familiar with. You are correct, in that, the steps here could be refined for a production environment.

      Hi, Thanks for reaching out. We have not tested the "Visual Studio Code Dev Containers extension" with our Docker containers. Based on a review of the VS code documentation on the subject, it should theoretically be possible, however, it may require you to make modifications to our container source, which is available in Github.

This grants the availability of all the development headers and libraries from the file-system.     Good Video ! I have a Question: I am currently working with the var-som-MX8M-Plus and a custom-built board. Now i created a recovery-sd card to see if the controller is booting correctly. But when i am booting the kernel is restarting the whole time. Now i am wondering if this is because of the wrong DTS-boad-file (its using the symphony board file, which does not match the custom-built-board) or should it boot correctly with the wrong DTS-file?       Just curious - what's your project? I'm working at a company that's building a device that does DNA analysis, using the older AM33 SOM's. Unfortunately it's too late in the design cycle to change to the newer SOM, but the old one should still be fast enough.

    Not bad, though I prefer the kits that lay the board and screen out flat, instead of the stacked type. I'm trying out different screens with a VAR-SOM-AM33 kit, and it's a pain to plug in the screen connectors. Still a good kit, though.

    @anonymer1994: What your seeing is a development system for electrical engineers and embedded system software authors wishing to work with the OMAP 4 chips. It's not something that's ready to be used as a consumer product out of the box. It's intended for company's creating the next generation of smart handhelds. The website is the watermark on the bottom left of the video in any case. You will want the VAR-OM44CustomBoard or the VAR-DVK-OM44 if you want "a product"... and it will not be cheep.
